Mahbub Ali, Bangladesh’s former state minister for civil aviation and tourism, was arrested by Dhaka detectives on September 15, 2024, in connection with the shooting death of a hotel employee.
According to prosecutors, Awami League leaders, which included Ali, and activists allegedly opened fire in front of a school in Dhaka’s Mirpur-10 district on July 18 during a period of civil unrest.
