Kenya Airways (KQ, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) has announced significant delays in its flight schedules caused by “the unexpected and prolonged grounding” of two of its B787-8s resulting from hold-ups in the delivery of engine components and parts.

The unavailability of flight crews for some regional flights is exacerbating the situation, the airline said in a statement. It anticipates that its network will normalise by May 21 once it receives and installs the necessary engines and components.
